How to read it

The filled shape is the short-term loudness: how loud each part is. The line over it is integrated: how the average of the song builds up, red where it goes over your target. Point at the graph to read the bar and every value there.

Settings

  • Span: 30 seconds, 1, 3, 5 or 10 minutes.
  • Shows: short-term, integrated and momentary, each on or off.
  • True Peak Marks: short red marks where the true peak went over −1 dBTP.
  • Dynamics Strip: a strip along the foot that turns red where the mix is squashed (PSR under 5).

Questions

  • Why a history? A drop that is quieter than the verse, a chorus that is squashed flat: you see it over the whole song, not just the last few seconds.
