In time with Live

Lock the scope to Live from 1 beat up to 16 bars. The downbeat is always on the left, with bar numbers, a grid down to 1/16 and your locators, so you see at a glance whether the kick lands on the beat and how a sidechain breathes.

Beat Sync

If the beat sits a little early or late, choose Calibrate Beat Sync in the scope's menu. MasterBar plays Live's metronome for two bars with everything else silent, measures where the clicks land and remembers it for this Set.

Settings

• Zoom: one or four cycles of the note (Follow Pitch holds it still), 10 ms up to 30 seconds, or synced to Live from 1 beat to 16 bars.
• Channel: stereo, left, right, mid, side, or two lanes: left and right, or mid and side.
• Color Map: colour the waveform by frequency: red for lows, green for mids, blue for highs.
• Grid and Locators: in the synced zooms.

Questions

• Why lock it to the beat? A kick and bass that do not line up, a sidechain that pumps too late, a transient that smears: they all show when every bar is drawn in the same place.
• What does Live need? Restart Live once after installing, so it picks up MasterBar's helper.
